| Payroll area is locked for master data maintenance | |
| Description | This is a SAP message meaning that you have tried to change data in the payroll past or present, but the control record of payroll area of specified employee has the status released for payroll or check payroll results. Master data can only be changed if the control record of the payroll area currently valid for the employee has the status released for correction or exit payroll. If the payroll run is complete, you can use the payroll menu to change the status of the control record accordingly. You can display and edit the control record directly using transaction PA03.
